FAQ

Here is a list of my MUST haves and answers to your most asked questions.  I hope that this is super helpful to you!

What kind of laser cutter do you use?

I have a Universal Laser Cutter.  I would recommend talking to a local representative for questions.  They are super helpful and their customer service is FABULOUS.  They will be able to direct you towards the machine that will serve your needs.  My biggest advice...buy Made in the USA.  You know the old saying, "you get what you pay for"...it is TRUE!

What kind of would do you use?

I love the following wood from Menards.  This is what I use for ALL of my door hangers.  It has a great weight to it and is super smooth to paint on.

Not interested in cutting your own blanks, you can check out the Blank Wooden Cutouts available in my shop.

What kind of brushes do you use?

This is a fantastic set of brushes.  It is a great variety of different styles to get you started and carry you through your painting adventures.  I have also been known to pick up brushes from Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby.

What kind of lettering brushes do you use?

Filbert style brushes are my go-to lettering bushes.  Filbert brushes are flat with a rounded tip.  Below is a great set that I found on Amazon.  These style brushes can also be found at your local craft store.

What are chip brushes?

I use cheap chip brushes to get the distressed look and for the barn wood painting technique that can be seen HERE.  I like to use 2 inch brushes as seen below.  These can be purchased at any hardware store.

How do you ship your door hangers?

I use 18x24 white cardboard mailer boxes.  There are great because you can vary the depth from 1/2 inch to 2 inch depth.

I also use the following foam pouches.
